Sabangan Beach Resort in Batangas, Philippines Review

Location: Laiya, San Juan, Batangas Philippines

For my sister’s 16th birthday last 2009 we went to Sabangan Beach Resort in Batangas. It took as about 2-3 hours ride from Sta. Rosa Laguna since the city proper of Batangas that morning was busy with people and commuters. The road to the resort was also under construction that time so it took as almost double the normal time to reach the place.

The area was littered with private resorts and they are adjacent to each other. Sabangan Beach Resort is between two of the most expensive private resorts in Laiya and good thing we did stay in this resort since the stay was worthwhile.

Accommodation and Amenities

We arrived before 2pm and waited for a couple of minutes before we could check in.  My family picked the loft type cottage since we’re a bunch and this is the biggest accommodation that they have.  The rate for the loft type cottage is around $380-$500 per night depending if its peak season or not. This includes complimentary breakfast and dinner for 12 persons. The minimum capacity is 12 persons and maximum of 15 persons. There’s extra charge for excess.

They also have two other accommodations, one bedroom bungalows and two bedroom bungalows. The rate for these rooms cost around $200-$300 and can occupy 6-9 persons.  I checked out the one bedroom bungalow and its okay if you have a small family or you’re just a couple.  If I comeback to this resort with some friends we would rent this or the two bedroom bungalows also near the swimming pool.

I like how simple and clean the cottage we stayed in.  It’s like a two storey house with two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have three double sized beds and an extra pull out mattress.  It consists of private toilet bath; cable television and the patio are with refrigerator, water dispenser with free bottled water, cookware, dining utensils and an electric stove.

All we need to do is bring food and our extra clothes to stay in this place.  It saved us a lot of money and we can enjoy our own cooked food.  They also have a griller and clothe rack outside for wet clothes.  This resort thought of everything a family will need to enjoy their stay and we did have fun and a lot more!

The cottage we rented was beside the swimming pool that is opened from 7am-7pm so to my delight I ended up swimming more than an hour under the scorching sun.  The beach stretched like forever and so many resorts but the beach area of the Sabangan Beach Resort is cleaner than the other ones and not too jam-packed with people.

Customer Service and Verdict

The staffs were also helpful when we decided the next morning to go to a marine sanctuary near the resort.  They arranged the boats for us, informed us of the fees we need to pay, safety precautions and allowed us to bring the extra towels inside the rooms for us to use after we went snorkeling.

The staffs of Sabangan Beach Resort did an awesome job since they are very good in keeping their guests happy with their customer service.  I thought it was already a perfect place to stay but before I forgot since the room rates includes complimentary breakfast, we’re given tickets for the breakfast buffet.  The breakfast is as usual they have sausages, eggs and fried rice nothing really special. They could've at least thought of other breakfast meals to choose from.

I will come back in this resort anytime soon.  I like staying in places where you get pampered and the staffs are well trained and smiles at you.
